Niddah

Acrylic paint and original print

Each drawing is 30" x 22"

The acrylic paintings with prints (Niddah) represents the male view of women during Niddah. The men are both repelled by her "condition" and compelled by the enforced distance.

The image of a printed hand emerging from the abstract brushwork is how I envision women viewed by men. Foremost, the woman is off limits and secondarily she is both reaching out and inaccessible. The last print shows a complete hand in black against a watery background symbolizing her emergence from the mikva.
