Acrylic on Paper
1998-2011

I had been painting in Oils since high school when I got pregnant with my daughter. My doctor was mortified to hear that I was painting with such toxic materials and insisted that I stop. I had no recourse but to switch to Acrylics. My entire practice went into a tailspin since the paints react very differently, mix differently and have a different consistency. I persisted and in between naps and feedings came up with the Boathouse series. As the children became more self-sufficient, I could devote more time to developing series and themes.
